Sophie Goodger is the Research and Innovation Manager at Cancer and Blood Research, Te Toka Tumai – Auckland, Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora. She leads a large, multidisciplinary team of research nurses, coordinators, pharmacists, and quality specialists delivering commercial, investigator-led, and non-commercial clinical trials for Te Pūriri o Te Ora, the Regional Cancer and Blood Service at Auckland Hospital.
 
After graduating from the University of Auckland, Sophie began her clinical research career in the United Kingdom, where she set up commercial trials across three NHS Trusts. With over 16 years of experience in the clinical trials sector—including the past 13 years at Cancer and Blood Research— her expertise lies in trial start-up, particularly in developing and negotiating budgets. Sophie is deeply passionate about oncology research and is committed to improving access to innovative treatment options for patients in Aotearoa New Zealand.
