Dr Robyn Whittaker
Director Evidence, Research & Clinical Trials, Te Whatu Ora, NZ
Prof Robyn Whittaker is the Director of Evidence, Research and Clinical Trials in the Service Improvement and Innovation directorate of Te Whatu Ora. She is a public health physician and adjunct Professor at the National Institute for Health Innovation, School of Population Health, University of Auckland (previously Clinical Trials Research Unit). Her research interests include healthy behaviour change digital health interventions for patient and population groups, mHealth and digital health developments, and patient access to their own health information. She is chair of the Te Whatu Ora Whānau Consumer and Clinician Digital Council and the National AI and Algorithm Expert Advisory Group.
Her previous role was CD Innovation at Te Whatu Ora Waitematā’s Institute for Innovation and Improvement, where she established the Leapfrog Programme, a Clinical Digital Academy and Fellows Programme, and the first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance Group within our public health services. She was an invited member of the WHO’s Digital Health Technical Advisory Group and Ethics & Governance in AI in HealthCare expert group. She was the NZ Harkness Fellow in Healthcare Policy & Practice 2010/11.
